Day 3 : Camooweal to Daly Waters Pub

We woke up at 5:45 QLD time and we left Camooweal at 6:00 NT time, which is half an hour earlier than QLD time and it was still dark. The sun started to come up at 6:30 and was fully up at 7:30. It was an 828 km drive from Comooweal to Daly Waters. We went through Barkly Homestead and the Three Ways in the Northern Territory, which is an intersection where there are only three ways you can turn, either north, south or east, which is back the way we came.

Another early start... it was still dark when we left Camooweal.

It was still dark when we reached the NT border.
Dad had to put the spotties on so we could take a photo of the border sign.

The sun coming up out on the Barkly

The road was long and straight.  Dad reckons this is the perfect time to do my homework in the car
because I wouldn't miss much.  This straight didn't have a bend for over 50kms!

Big road train at the Barkly Homestead. 66 wheels in total!

Dad said he had to get a stubby cooler from the Daly Waters pub...
it just happened to come with a beer in it!

A sign with my name on it...  :)

More super cars.  A total of 9 came in tonight.

Money on the wall.

Nan & Pop (Crick) stopped here and told us the tucker was pretty good.  Dad said he would have to make up his own mind about that.  I had beef schnitzel, salad & chips, while Dad forced down a rib fillet, topped with barra and some salad on the side.  It was good alright, but we were both pretty full.  Honest Mum, we will be eating some of the food you prepared tomorrow night!  :)

We plan on camping out in the bush tomorrow, past Top Springs, on the way to Kunnunarra.  I'm not sure what sort of internet connection we are going to have for the next couple of days, so we might not be able to update you tomorrow.

Having a great time and thanks for the comments.

Bye for now,

Cooper  :)
