Day 4 : Daly Waters to Kununurra...

We left Daly Waters at 7:00am and got to a roadhouse at 7:30am to have some breaky.  Different shirt on today Mum!  :)  Trust you to notice.  Dad said lets see how long it takes you to notice from the photo's.   We have been changing our underwear everyday though... we're not total grubs (yet)!!  :)

Oh … at last we were on dirt road!
We decided to go the short cut to Kununurra. On the way to Kununurra we went past Top Springs and through part of the Gregory National Park.

Very dusty…

Pretty quiet at Top Springs.  From the Flinders Highway to Top Springs we didn't see a single car - just a mustering helicopter. We didn’t stop to take a picture of the  helicopter because he was trying to muster a bullock (scrub bull).

First creek crossing.  Only a tiny one though.
The landscape started to change as we entered the Gregory Nation Park.

  The valley was very rocky.

The end of the dirt.  441ks in total.
We made good time so we decided to head all the way to Kununurra.

Crossing the border into WA

What we came for...   The Kimberley!

Liz stopped to check us out at the WA quarantine station.  She was looking for any fruit, veg, honey or "strange animals" which may bring disease or pests into the region.  Dad said he had a strange smelly animal in the back seat if she wanted it...  not sure what he meant though!

...  660kms traveled and we have reached our destination for today, Kununurra.

We'll probably have a bit of a catch up day tomorrow and have a look around Kununurra.

Bye for now,

Cooper  :)
