Day 17 - Mitchell Falls by Chopper!!

*Warning! ... Lots and lots of photos!  You might need to go and make a cuppa first!  :)

Today was a bit exciting!!

We woke up had breaky and went to go on our chopper flight!!  We chose the coastal flight so we could see where we were camping at Port Warrender.

That's me, riding shotgun!  :)

We saw this bushfire and the pilot said it was lit by cigarette.

This was our own little fishing bay.

This was our camp at Walsh Point

'Gator country.

The chopper dropped us off at the falls, then we walked the 4.3km back to camp.

When we got to Mitchell Falls we took a photos of the 4 levels. Then we went around the to a spot where you can swim. After that we went to where the water fall starts and took more photos.

Big Mertens Falls...
Mick & I sitting at the top of the falls.  It was a long way down.

Some art we found on the way out.   We saw more rockart on the way out too.

Nice place to cool off at Little Mertens falls on the walk out.  We then headed back to camp and finished packing up before we hit the road again to head out of the park.

We stopped and checked out some art on the trip from Mitchell Falls National Park back out heading to Kalumburu.  Some were the Bradshaw Paintings that Dad wanted to see.

A skeleton.

We stumbled upon old mate stuck in a little cave while walking through the bush.  Oh, & Dad tripped over a snake that was on the track.  It didn't bite him though.

We didn't go all the way to Kalumburu tonight, but stopped at a little bush camp overnight.

Tub time.

We went for a swim in the creek and then we started the fire.

 Nice camp all to ourselves

Had to have a fire to cook dinner.  Barra again!

Movie night Kimberley style.

We cooked fish and pasta on the fire for dinner tonight. After dinner we watched 'The Dark Night' (with popcorn of course), then fell into bed.

Big day, heaps of fun!!  :)

Back with more soon.

Bye for now,

Cooper  :)
