Day 23 - North Creek to Mt Elizabeth station

We woke up and I went for another fish down by the river and caught another little fish.  Then we had bacon and eggs for breakfast, packed up and headed off to Mt Elisabeth Station.

We keep crossing paths of these 3 blokes who are riding the Gibb River Road on there mountain bikes.

They don't like corrugations either.

When we got to the homestead, they had a little joey they were looking after.  It's mother had been killed by
eagles.

When we got there we set up camp and we drove to a water hole 10 km from the main homestead and it
took nearly an hour to get there.   Getting a bit tired of the rocky tracks Dad keeps finding.

It was worth it though... we had this water hole all to ourselves!!  The water was nice and there was a little
spot where you could dive off.

When we got back to camp we went to go get some fire wood. When I was walking down the creek I was
looking at the ground and I heard hissing in front of me and I thought it was a snake but, when I had a look,
I realised it was a BIG goanna. From nose to tail I reckon he was nearly 2m long.

Some of the toilets.  No doors, just stare out into the bush.

Then we got we got the fire wood back and lit the fire with a battery.  Another nice cold night for a fire.

Curry chicken & rice for dinner.  Thanks mum!  :)

The friendly station hound.  We called him Muttley.

After that Mick went to have a shower but all the pensioners got in first and stole all the hot water and he got
a freezing cold shower.   Dad and I went after dinner and we had a nice and warm shower after the gas hot
water system had time to reheat.  Poor Mick.  I will keep teasing him for the rest of the trip.  :)

Our journey continues... be back soon.

Bye for now,

Cooper  :)
